Comment
To fit within the restrictive daylight indcators for this sight, Paul Brown developed an innovative twin tower design, but with a relatively small footprint for each tower. To maximise the useable space within these towers, Buller George Turkington proposed an insitu concrete shell, formed with the same jumpform techniques used to create lift cores in many other buildngs, which formed not only the structural frame, but also the monolithic cladding system as well.
Precast lift and stairwell cores were used in the center, and the flooring spans from the outside shell to these cores - resulting in no internal beams or columns - allowing a reduced floor-to-floor height and totally flexible internal space.
